I created this to record all the happiness that I encounter in each day of 2014. Looking back to 2013, I realized how much bitterness I had in my life. However, I realized how my eyes were blinded by the mere cruelties of life that hid its beauty. I created this blog in my search of finding little joys in life and record them and be thankful for them.
Pictures taken with Canon 50D (Jessie) and iPhone 5C.
Credits given if photos I've taken are not mine.
Goal: 365 pictures for each day of 2014. Have a blessing day, everyone <3
Day 197 - Hanging Out with Josh

I have known Josh Pe ever since I joined Key Club in Freshman year. He tried to annoy me, yelling my name across the quad to get my attention. It is a blessing to know this gregarious guy who always has my back! It has been too long since we hung out, so I took the time today to spend time with him. We caught up on our lives, and we couldn’t believe in less than a year we won’t be able to see each other because it’s highly probable that I’m going to go to a school in east coast.

Honestly, there are too many people I want to hang out with before I leave for college, and summer seems too short of a time to do so while I’m still studying for SAT.

Josh was very shocked to learn that I have never been to his favorite boba shop, Half-and-Half. I’ve only heard about this place, and my goodness, the words cannot describe how delicious this place is. I usually go to 5.2 Patio by my house to get my boba, but not anymore! Driving to San Gabriel is so worth this drink!

Day 196 - Nostalgic Dinner

When I was young, I used to eat lunch at a tiny kimbap store in front of my house that also sold ramen and ddukbokgi (spicy rice cake). Ever since Joseph went to Korea, my family has been talking about Korean food. Therefore, my mom tried to make little Korean foods mimicking that little store in front of our house. We were also happy that Joseph arrived safely, and we hoped that he’ll spend a great time relaxing and playing.

Day 195 - Lunch Date with Christine and Joseph’s Departure

Christine has been gone for her internship in Palo Alto since the beginning of the summer. She surprised me last week as she announced her short visit for the weekend. We quickly scheduled a lunch date at Din Tai Fung, and I went to meet her after my SAT class. To be honest, I didn’t think Din Tai Fung was that good when I first ate it with my friend Deborah. However, that warm soup in those dumplings has grown on me. Now I can’t wait to eat another dish as soon as I get my allowance.

We also got our dessert at Pinkberry, and I finally got my new high top Converse… It’s been two years since I had gotten my regular white one, and I was glad to throw my old pair away.

Joseph also had to leave for Korea today. He was very tired after his hang out at Six Flags, but he was also excited to travel to Korea alone. It was weird coming home without him, but I was glad that he was getting his time off from school and actually having a vacation~

Day 194 - First Day as Intern
I went to Victorian Care Medical Group in Inglewood for my first day of internship. To be honest, I was very nervous for the community there was a lot different from my town, La Crescenta. There were a lot of patients, but the nurses managed to teach me everything I need to know as a medical assistant. Soon I learned how to measure blood pressure, pulses, respiratory, et cetera for the patients. After running around all day filing papers and getting the patients ready for the doctor, I was ready to knock out when I got home.
The day was quite hectic as my parents forgot to give me lunch money. I only had two dollars in my wallet, so I went to Mc Donald’s to get a snack wrap (small but better than nothing). I don’t even really like Mc Donald’s, but never has any food tasted as delicious as that little snack wrap.
I learned a lot on my first day, and I was glad to have found that the nurses also liked me. Internship was less stressful but more tiring than what I had thought. However, I also loved the excitement that I felt every now and then as I realized I’m interacting with patients~

Day 193 - Clam Chowder

Good o’ clam chowder is your best friend when you’re sick and you want a heated food as fast as possible…

Whoever invented canned good, thank you~

Day 192 - Running Man

My creative friend Jason decided to hold a fun day inspired by the Korean show “Running Man.” I seriously appreciate him soo much for planning everything and getting everyone involved. It was a really nice time hanging out with friends! , and I hope that I’ll be able to spend more time with them!

PLUS, I finally found Gregory Maguire’s Wicked! Ahhhhhhhh!!

Day 191 - Date with Joseph

So.. My friend Sunjin somehow managed to persuade my brother (who doesn’t like chocolates) to importune me to take him to Melting Pot.

After an hour of bus trip, we finally arrived in Pasadena.

Honestly, second time Melting Pot wasn’t as good as the first time when I went with my friends, but I still enjoyed our little adventure together. I found out today how much Joseph enjoys shopping! I introduced him to all the stores I know, and I also taught him how to choose nice fabrics.

For dinner, my parents joined us and we ate at an Italian restaurant called Mi Piace. It was nice to spend a great time with my brother~

Day 190 - Dog Attack

Every Tueday I get stopped off by my SAT tutor today. She is a huge dog lover and carries three of them with her everywhere. Although I am a fan of dogs, my mom’s dislike prevented me from having one.

However, I was very happy to experience how it was like to own dogs on my way home from LA.

Day 189 - A Thousand Splendid Suns

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is my favorite book. I decided to read to prepare for college apps and remind myself of the deep emotions that were evoked when I first read this novel.

As the weather is getting hotter, I didn’t get hungry as often as I did before. The only things that I will be willing to gladly eat are fruits.

It was nice to cuddle, find a book bug, and eat fruits today~

Day 188 - Girls Night Out

I have precious friends whom I’ve known for several years. Now that I think about it, I don’t even know how we’re so close with one another when some of us have opposite personalities. However, I am truly blessed to be able to call each one of them my homies - ones I can trust and ones who always makes me laugh.

It’s quite bizarre to say this, but this was our first time hanging out all together ever since high school has started. We went to Old Town Pasadena and watched How to Train Your Dragon 2. I can’t wait until we get to watch rated R movies when some of the youngsters turn 17!

Thanks to my dear friend who goes out to eat a lot, I had the best burger of my life. Shout out to Slader’s! Then we also went to Melting Pot for dessert. It was my first time eating the fondu, and it was sooooo good!

We hung out for a long time today, but all those hours seemed like nothing when we bid our farewells for the night. It was also crazy to choose the perfect day for us to hang out, but we were all so glad to make time for each other.

Dearest friends, as the year ends, let’s make a heck lot of memories that we’ll mention more than twenty years later. I love you all homies, and I can’t wait ‘till the day we meet and chill again~!
